After working as a jacquard designer for 11 years, I revisited my handloom and discovered some holes in my weaving knowledge. To remedy this, I pursued the CERTIFICATE OF EXCELLENCE from the HANDWEAVERS GUILD OF AMERICA which forced me to learn and execute many foundational weave structures such as lace weaves, tapestry, overshot, leno, velvet, corduroy and many others. I was evaluated and passed Level 1 Handweaving in 2012 and am currently pursuing my own woven artwork.
This twill sample was really fun and is a great way to see how different threadings interact with different treadlings. This is one one many samples for the Certificate of Excellence that need to be completed.
